Bravo For Nancy Upton!

As most of you know by now by watching the news, we have already heard about Nancy Upton and the lesson she gave to fashion giant American Apparel about their policies regarding hiring "plus size" models for their ads.About a few months ago American Apparel ran an ad announcing a contest about "Plus Size" models in which overweight woman can apply by sending photos of themselves in various modeling poses in order to qualify for a year modeling contract with the company.Well it seems that Ms. Upton who herself is a size 14 figure, was upset and rightly so about American Apparel's ad and contest for "plus size" models that she decided to protest by applying to the concert herself by sending satirical photos of herself in various modeling poses but obnoxiously eating various types of fat foods spoofing models. Surprisingly she was voted as the number one contender of the American Apparel contract and because of that she won the contract and the contest. But when American Apparel got word the real reason why Ms. Upton entered the contest, the company immediately disqualified her from the contest. The greater irony that there was a major public uproar against American Apparel for disqualifying Ms. Upton from wining the contest as well for their "plus size" ad regarding that contest and the company finally relented to public opinion by asking Ms. Upton to come to the company to model for them anyway. I say BRAVO to Nancy Upton to call out American Apparel for the prejudicial and damaging practices regarding "plus size" models and for having such good humor in doing so. Here I'm posting the photos that Ms. Nancy Upton sent to American Apparel and by the way, may I say that Ms. Upton is a very attractive and sexy model especially being herself a "plus size" woman!
