Anna Chapman: Maxim Cover, Kremlin Spy Award & Launches iPhone App

Sexy Russian spy Anna Chapman has been busy since being arrested for espionage and then deported from the US - she is now on the cover of the provocative men's Russian 'Maxim' magazine and has done an erotic lingerie photo spread, plus has gotten a Russian spy award

If you were worrying about what sexy, flame-haired Russian spy Anna Chapman would do after being deported and being arrested by the FBI for her years of espionage in our country, well, fret no longer. Anna’s espionage talents may no longer be needed, but her physical, er, talents are appreciated by red-blooded men around the globe. She’s been BUSY-BUSY-BUSY. She’s featured in a scanty, racy lingerie photo spread and is featured on the cover of the newly releasedMaxim magazine in Russia.

Who knew that failed espionage could end up being so profitable and fame-creating?

Since she choose to pose semi-nude for the men’s magazine, Chapman has been honored by the Kremlin with some kind of high-falutin’ Ruskie spy award, of all things. I guess it doesn’t matter to Moscow that she botched her mission by being arrested and deported. She’s famous, ni figá sebé! Anna’s even launched an iPhone app.

That infamous “bro bonding” burger lunch Pres. Barack Obama had with Russian Pres. Dmitry Medvedev at Ray’s Hell Burger this past summer obviously didn’t accomplish much to strengthen and nurture our relationship with Russia.

But Ray has gotten a lot of free publicity from the POTUS/Ruskie burger summit, and Anna has entered into American/Russian pop culture — so there are some clear-cut winners in all this craziness.

She’s also doing wonders for Russia’s men and Maxim… reportedly, the Maximonline.ru website has crashed a number of times this week because of high volume traffic.

How sweet.

Reported by Baltimore Sun, Ex-Spy Anna Chapman Bares Almost Everything For Russian Maxim:

NEW YORK (WPIX) — Anna Chapman appears to be the spy making the most out of her overnight celebrity following her arrest and ultimate deportation for her part in a Russian spy ring.

A scantily clad Chapman, 28, is featured on next month’s cover of Russian’s edition of Maxim magazine, editors revealed Tuesday.

The red-headed spy dons black lingerie, diamond earrings, a silver automatic and a coy yet sexy smile.

“No you are not sleeping and your eyesight is not deceiving you,” Maxim editors boast on their website in Russian. In the issue, Chapman is billed as “the world-famous red-headed spy, the mysterious debutante from our list of the country’s 100 sexiest women.”

Since posting a behind-the-scenes video of Chapman’s tongue wagging photoshoot on their site, Maximonline.ru has reportedly crashed several times, a result of high volumes of traffic.

The photo spread also is accompanied by an interview with the former spy where she reveals what she looks for in a man.

“Most men are divided in three categories: primitive, those that only want sex; smarter, those that want to be loved, and [the] last group — those that not only want to be loved, they also need that this love will be the biggest and most amazing feeling in your life,” she said. “Those are the most difficult, but that is my favorite category.”

Her salacious Maxim cover is just the latest project keeping the ex-spy busy. Chapman, along with nine other spies part of a ring taken down by the FBI in June, was recently awarded the Kremlin’s top medal for her role in the ring.

In what is her latest move to garner publicity, Russian spy Anna Chapman has posed in skimpy lingerie for a lad’s magazine in her home country.

The 28-year-old beauty, who shot to fame in a sensational spy ring bust earlier this year, appears on the cover of Russian Maxim clad in little more than black lingerie, complete with suspender belt, and her finger poised on the trigger of a gun.

Chapman was on Tuesday handed a top state medal by Kremlin president Dmitry Medvedev for her espionage work in the West, the Daily Mail newspaper reported. She is believed to be one of the youngest people ever to receive such an award.

Nine other agents thrown out of America with her accused of spying for Russia were also awarded highest honours at the ceremony.

The group of 10 spies, many of whom had been working for years undercover in the United States as sleeper agents, returned to Russia in a sensational Cold War-style spy swap.

In return, four Russians who secretly spied for MI6 and the CIA were allowed to go free in the West.

After she returned to Russia in July, Chapman was stripped of her British passport for which she had qualified after marrying a former public schoolboy, Alex Chapman.

In the weeks after their return, strongman prime minister Vladimir Putin met the spies and sang patriotic songs with them.

Before Tuesday’s ceremony, there were claims the glamorous socialite – whose semi-naked pictures were sold by her ex-husband after her arrest in New York – was in reality only a minor player unwittingly caught in the spy scandal. But the new award removes any doubt.

Chapman is also reported to be writing a book, though it is believed she has been barred from selling her story.

From The Mirror, Giving Anna Chapman a medal honours the incompetent:

Russia’s new Tsar Vladimir Putin and his puppet Premier Dmitry Medvedev are not half as clever as the Moscow duo like to believe.

Awarding deported spy Anna Chapman and the rest of a gang caught red-handed by US authorities is honouring the incompetent.

The truth is the Cold War ring was so bad that if it was turned into a film it would be slapstick Carry On Spying.

But the gongs prove Mr Putin, a former head of FSB Russian security service, is stuck in the past. He refuses to let British police question Andrey Lugovoy over the London poisoning of exile Alexander Litvinenko.

He talks of improving relations with countries yet is up to old Russian dirty tricks.

From CS Monitor, Russian spies given top honors; Anna Chapman launches iPhone app:

Russian spies have traditionally faded into obscurity, embracing the aura of mystery surrounding the KGB. But not those deported from the United States earlier this year in a classic Cold War spy swap.

They were awarded top state honors Monday in a ceremony at the Kremlin, just days after one of them, the red-haired Anna Chapman, launched an iPhone application that allows users to play poker against a “virtual” Anna. She has had no shortage of high-profile appearances in recent months, singing with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, posing for the Russian edition of Maxim, christening a space launch, and going to work for a major domestic bank.

“A ceremony took place in the Kremlin [Monday] to hand top state honors to a number of Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) employees, including the spies who were working in the United States and returned to Russia in July,” the Interfax news agency quoted presidential spokeswoman Natalya Timakova as saying. It was not clear if all 10 former spies were at the ceremony.

They were arrested in June after living for years in cities across the United States. All 10 pleaded guilty in federal court to spying for a foreign country and were deported in exchange for Moscow’s release of four people accused of spying for the West.

But Chapman’s eagerness to remain socially active – her iPhone app launched Oct. 11 also promises you can be her Facebook friend – may merely be a signal of new media’s reach into Russian culture.

It seems the road to fame and fortune—or at least infamy and lingerie photo shoots—still exists even if you’ve been deported from the United States as a bumbling spy. Anna Chapman, the former NYC party girl with extensive Facebook pictures who was accused of being a Russian spy, was sent back to Mother Russia, where she’s been made an advisor to a bank and feted by President Dmitry Medvedev with the Kremlin’s highest honor. And now she’s in the new issue of the Russian Maxim!
